This 1957 Chevy 3100 is a ground-up restomod — a classic American workhorse rebuilt around a modern LS drivetrain, an E-Rods custom chassis, and a hand-finished cabin. What follows is a look at the work, the detail, and the dedication that went into bringing this icon back to life.

Engine Bay

This engine bay showcases a meticulously crafted performance setup centred around a powerful LS 6.0L engine paired with a matching transmission, seamlessly integrated using a standalone harness.

Key upgrades include an aluminium radiator with performance pipes for optimal cooling, a braided throttle cable for sharper response, and LS-specific engine and transmission mounts for precise fitment. Fuel delivery is enhanced by a 50mm high-flow fuel filter, while a 1000ml aluminium oil catch can ensures clean operation.

Additional reliability comes from a NOVAX AGM 652 battery and a fresh set of spark plugs and oil filter. A modern LMC wiper kit rounds off the build, combining functionality with a clean, modern aesthetic — bringing new life to this classic while maintaining its timeless charm.

Transmission & Plumbing

This section of the build highlights a comprehensive transmission and plumbing upgrade, featuring premium components from Army Navy for unmatched performance and reliability. The setup includes high-performance stainless braided hoses designed to handle increased pressure and enhance durability, alongside a dedicated transmission oil cooler to maintain optimal operating temperatures.

Precision-engineered Army Navy fittings and custom plumbing ensure a clean, efficient, and leak-free system. The upgrade also includes a new park brake cable for improved control and freshly routed fuel lines tailored to meet the demands of the LS powertrain.

Every component has been carefully installed with an emphasis on functionality, longevity, and a seamless finish — modernising this classic while preserving its original character.

Exhaust

Precision and performance come together with our LS stainless steel block hugger headers, ideal for tight engine bays like the ’57 Chevy 3100. Designed for optimal clearance and better exhaust flow, they boast a sleek, polished finish that enhances performance and adds style under the hood. Built to fit snugly against the block, they’re sure to impress.

The build is finished with a custom stainless steel dual exhaust system. Designed for maximum airflow and performance, it delivers a powerful sound while adding a sleek look — built to last, it will elevate the driving experience and turn heads wherever the truck goes.

Brakes

Braking has been brought fully up to modern standards as part of the chassis upgrade, delivering the confident, repeatable stopping power needed to match the LS drivetrain and the truck’s new performance envelope.

Electrical & Chassis

The electrics have been brought up to modern standards with a 21-circuit wiring harness and Mastodon headlights. The harness ensures a reliable, organised electrical system for optimal performance, while the headlights provide powerful illumination and a rugged appearance.

Underneath, an E-Rods custom chassis is engineered for optimal performance and precision, providing an exceptional foundation for every modern enhancement. Whether the goal is improved handling, better drivability, or a stylish upgrade, it’s tailored to elevate the truck to new heights.

Interior

Inside, the 3100’s cabin blends classic character with modern comfort — custom upholstery, updated instrumentation, and clean, considered switchgear throughout, finished to the same standard as the rest of the build.

Exterior

The exterior has been elevated with a refined blend of modern upgrades and timeless styling. Visibility and weather protection are enhanced with new wiper arms and blades, a complete windshield and rear glass replacement, and a full weatherstrip set for a tight, quiet cabin, while a layer of O/S Smash and Grab window tint adds privacy and UV protection.

The body features Eddie Motorsport billet hood hinges for smooth, durable operation, while chrome headlight bezels, a bold chrome grille, and matching front and rear bumpers restore a factory-fresh aesthetic. Tailored details include LED black tail light assemblies with chrome brackets, modern park light lenses, and a billet gas cap. American Racing 20-inch wheels bring a muscular stance and aggressive finish.

Finishing touches include new chrome door handles, door strikers, and a complete set of rear bumper brackets. Altogether, these upgrades deliver a sharp, refreshed look that celebrates classic design with modern performance and precision.
